When Opportunity Knocks…

October 5, 2017
“If a window of opportunity appears, don’t pull down the shade.”  – Tom Peters

A few weeks ago, the company I was with dissolved and I was laid off for the first time ever in my career.  While devastating & stress-inducing for most I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to achieve my next goal. I know you’re probably sitting here like what do you mean?  You’ve literally lost your major source of income and possibly a part of your mind!

While at least one of those statements are factual. I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and it’ll be ok. Let me elaborate more on this blessing in disguise…

For the past couple of years, I’ve wanted to escape my comfort zone and relocate to a new city. Between the internal/external battles and doubts along with other various factors, it became a goal I found difficult to bring to fruition until now.

After my last trip to NYC in June, I affirmed I would live there by the end of the year.  I guess you should be careful what you speak into existence because if the timing is right the opportunity will open itself up. Although the way the situation presents itself may not be ideal, it’s just another one of those times you have to grow through what you go through.

As I go through this experience I’ve realized this year has placed a number of people/resources in my life as well as taken some out so I could stop pulling down the shade and take that leap to achieve what I want.

As we begin the last quarter of the year tell me how you’re planning to finish strong? Share your goals with me in the comments and let’s help each other achieve the unthinkable.

Until next time…

xo Sincerely Shanti

I want to say welcome to entrepreneurship this post is exactly what it means. Girl, work. After coming back from a conference in Atlanta and my first ever in Atlanta I sit back and think wow what the heck am I doing with myself. So my goals are to really find myself and identify what I’m supposed to be doing.

Thanks Ranisha! I can definitely relate to that, so often we get caught up in working to live instead of living to work. All the best in finding your purpose <3

Same thing happened to me on many occasions. I AGREE with Ranisha. WELCOME TO ENTREPRENEURIAL LIVING. Did you know that during “The depression” it produced more millionaires and business then ever in history. Reason being is that something drastic had to happen in order for something phenomenal had to come to fruition.

    Wish you all the best.

You never know how things will manifest but I do believe ALL things work together for the good. Sometimes when we get comfortable God, the Universe, will make us uncomfortable so that we can step into our destiny! I wish you the best along this new journey!

I firmly believe that everything works out for the highest good. Sometimes we don’t see how it will work out but that’s not our job, our job is to show up, show out and be ready to embrace the opportunities that come our way! Wishing you all the best as you step out into this new journey.
