Gulfstream Park talks Home Design

June 20, 2017

Don’t want to deal with the hustle and bustle of Miami or Fort Lauderdale? Then head over to Gulfstream Park a beautiful open-air destination I frequent often.

Whether you’re looking to take your chances in the casinos, watch the horses race, shop for unique pieces for your home and wardrobe, or simply dine & drink at one of the many restaurant/bars; there’s always something for everyone!  Plus there’s even more on the way like a karaoke bar and movie theater as they prepare to expand.

On May 13th they hosted their first Home & Design Fair featuring 7 workshops at various shops, a tasty lunch by Adena Grill, and an after party at one of the art galleries on-site.  Honestly, the event couldn’t have happened at a better time! Being the one that wears both hats of event planner and blogger the designers definitely sparked some easy-to-execute ideas.

My favorite part of the whole day would have to be the “Setting the Bar”  featuring a mixology demo by Brio Tuscan Grill and designer/TV personality Krista Watterworth from Design Palm Beach. There we learned how to create and define a designated bar/entertaining space in your home with an area rug followed by some cozy lounge seating and cocktail tables.  Then she moved on to how to style the bar area with some mixed metal shelving, cute décor pieces, and making the area appear larger by adding a mirror to the back which you frequently see in restaurants/bars.

All in all, it was the Home & Design Fair was so much fun and the perfect full day experience! I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the next one.  Missed out this one? Not to worry, stay up to date with their events here!  Gulfstream Park is located at 901 South Federal Highway Beach, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009 and is open daily.

xo Sincerely Shanti
