A 365-Day Bucket List

travel bucket list

Reunited and it feels so good! This past week I received my new passport book after sending it off almost a month ago. Needless to say, I will never procrastinate when it comes to renewing again (it expired in November). To spark some major travel goals I got the 52-page book so in order to fill it, I need to visit at least 2-3 countries a year for the next 10 years. To celebrate, here are 5 places off my bucket list I want to visit by this time next year.

Dominican Republic

In just a few weeks I’ll be checking this one off my list with my trip to Puerto Plata.  The island has so much culture and history. In Puerto Plata specifically, I’ll be looking forward to the cable car ride to Loma Isabel del Torres, visiting the Brugal rum distillery, & Cayo Arena.

With my father’s side of the family being from Jamaica and it being such a quick getaway from Miami it’s a shame I haven’t been here yet. What I look forward to the most besides the falls & swimming in the blue hole… Authentic Jerk Cuisine & Bobsledding!

Between the history, architecture, classic cars, and authentic Cuban cuisine sign me up! Since they’ve opened up travel to the U.S. (with restrictions) and flights being so inexpensive from Miami,  I definitely want to check this off my bucket list very soon.

Can we just stop for a moment and take in this sunset?  Between the culture, food, and Instagram-worthy locations you get to see the evolution of the city as you make your way through Old Cartagena to the modern area Bocagrande.

Besides, it being another beautiful island with great food & history in the Caribbean my real reason for wanting to go is Carnival.  Take Miami’s carnival and amplify that by 1000 and you get a sea of masqueraders & fun. Their carnival is the most known and largest in the Caribbean and playing mas would definitely be a check off my bucket list.

Living in Miami makes traveling to these destinations such an ease. What are some places you want to visit? Tell me in the comments below.
