The Fit Life

August 8, 2016

Being in the events/hospitality industry there’s always the struggle of staying fit & eating right due to indulging on small bites at work or events.   While scrolling through the explore page on Instagram there was a post from the Fit Girls Guide (FGG) of a food shot one could easily mistake for a restaurant dish. While looking into it further and discovering more food shots mixed with unicorn glitter, and some major fitspo of women with unbelievable result photos this was definitely something I wanted to try.

So at the beginning of the year I put the 28 Day Jumpstart to the test paired with the Lose Me – Fat Burner Tea and a killer 5 day a week workout involving a mix of kickboxing and HIIT while wearing a fitness belt.  Figured if testing out Instagram fitness plans might as well go all out and include everything the celebs and IG models always post about.  Don’t get me wrong everything about this was sketchy to me but the recipes were pretty good and to my surprise, I lost 6 pounds and toned up really well.

28 Day Jumpstart: Week 1 – Lunch

Busy season along with the number of trips I’ve taken definitely made it hard to continue with the next round of FGG and my workouts slowly started to become less and eventually non-existent.  So being in the middle of summer where it’s not as busy; I definitely wanted to start this journey again but would much rather spend time out and about at events than meal prepping for hours.

The solution and a MAJOR KEY alert…sign up for a meal plan delivery service. Just think no grocery shopping, no measuring out portions or cooking (especially if that isn’t your forte) and they do the calorie counting for you while providing a great variety of food to eat versus the same thing for a set amount of days. Having 10 meals delivered a week (lunch & dinner) from Fit Food Fresh and doing my own thing for breakfast (including a mix of the FGG recipes) is definitely a step back in the right path while saving time/money. The workouts will soon be back in effect but in the meantime, I’ll be exploring the city and enjoying the rest of summer!

xo Sincerely Shanti

You think YOU’VE got it tough? I’m a food blogger trying to stay fit! I’m at the gym at 5 a.m. 5 days/week. In between sweets and treats – I eat enough kale to start my own Whole Foods! LOL!

Do you find you the meal delivery service to save money instead of meal prepping?

Definitely saving money this way! The meal plan service I have averages $135-140 a week including delivery and gives variety in meals versus when I meal prepped myself I was eating the same meal M-W-F & T-Th. When groceries ran me about $150 or so depending on what ingredients I needed.
