3 Ways to Succeed at New Year, New Me

January 5, 2017

At the close of every year you always hear the infamous “New Year, New Me”; however for the majority of us it often pans out to a continuous cycle of trying again next year.  Don’t get me wrong I’m sure you’ve come up with an awesome game plan, have either completed some DIY Pinterest project, or purchased a number of items to help attain your goal (Trust me I’ve been right there with you!) but for some reason none of it seems to keep you on track. An industry friend posted the below on his social media pages and aside…

Basel’d Out

December 11, 2016

With Art Basel being one of the busiest times of year in South Florida a few days (or a week in my case) of R&R  are much needed to recover!  Here’s a mini-recap of my week along with some tips so you too can Basel like the pros. Do Your Research This year a few people reached out wondering: a) How I knew about so many events? & b) How to get in without having an invite? Simple! Aside from the events I received…

Friendsgiving Fun

November 12, 2016

Where has the year gone?! It’s crazy to believe we’re just two weeks away from Thanksgiving!  Although a holiday mostly reserved for spending time with your family; myself like most others are equally grateful for their friends & colleagues. So how do you get the best of both worlds? Easy, host a Friendsgiving dinner either the Wednesday before or the Friday after Thanksgiving. This is one of my favorite holidays especially since over the years a friend of mine & her mom would host…

Miami Broward Carnival 2016 | Recap

October 15, 2016

Despite the scare of Hurricane Matthew causing a shift of events, this year’s Carnival was definitely one for the books! Machel Montano’s “Waiting on the Stage”  (song in recap video) was a huge hit for a majority of the mas bands this year as they displayed their vibrant costumes to the judges in hopes of securing Band of the Year with One Island Mas Band taking home the title again. Between all the performances, great food, and vibes you’ll want to make sure to join in…

A New York Minute

October 8, 2016

What do Frank Sinatra, Jay-Z, & Alicia Keys have in common? Their love for New York.  Last weekend I traded the warm Miami weather for a 48-hour visit to the city that never sleeps.   Although not new to the concrete jungle it was my first time experiencing it as an adult. Originally, the plan was to attend the Meadows Festival but as a seasoned festival-goer their lack of organization followed by a double cancellation of The Weeknd (first a headliner, then placed in a lower slot) definitely made me re-think spending…

Hello Autumn

September 29, 2016

Congrats, you’ve made it through the brutal summer heat! Even though in South Florida it’s only about 3 degrees cooler than before, it’s time to bring out the Pumpkin flavored everything and maybe have a legit attempt to order a hot beverage from Starbucks as we prepare for the infamous Florida winter (it was like 61 last year, don’t judge us).   With the change of weather, it’s time for all the single ladies & gents to face cuffing season yet again. Personally, I’ve only been through it once and epically failed so I’m grateful that it…

Carnival Countdown

September 9, 2016

Miami Broward One Carnival being just a mere 29 days away brings even more excitement this year as myself and a very intimate group of fellow South Florida bloggers, creatives, & media were given a sneak peek of the new MiamiBrowardCarnival.com  atop the breathtaking rooftop of the Betsy Hotel. MB Carnival for those not of island descent is one of the many annually held Caribbean festivals bringing together the different West Indian cultures through live music, good vibes, fun costumes, and plenty of island cuisine. Why is it so exciting this…

A Labor Daycation

August 31, 2016

Summer ’16 you’ve had an amazing run but with all good things must come to an end.  In reality, this means nothing to us in South Florida except being most people’s last 3-day weekend of the year; the rest of the world is trading back in their swimsuits & sandals for layers and coats with the season’s official wrap this Monday. From previous posts you all know I’m definitely not one to pass on taking the opportunity to travel; as normally with extended weekends (whether holiday or self-created) come Friday I would be on…

The Fit Life

August 8, 2016

Being in the events/hospitality industry there’s always the struggle of staying fit & eating right due to indulging on small bites at work or events.   While scrolling through the explore page on Instagram there was a post from the Fit Girls Guide (FGG) of a food shot one could easily mistake for a restaurant dish. While looking into it further and discovering more food shots mixed with unicorn glitter, and some major fitspo of women with unbelievable result photos this was definitely something I wanted to try.…

A Weekend in Curaçao

July 2, 2016

What happens when you mix pre-birthday excitement, insomnia, your boyfriend being out of town and Google Flights? A spontaneously booked trip to Curaçao. Getting there was a mere 2.5 hour flight from Miami which was amazing as I love quick getaways! However as the plane prepared to land my initial reaction was like a scene out of Catfish. Where was the lush greenery and white sand beaches that you see in all the pictures?  A little discouraged yet still eager to explore…
